Formation of Sage Business Solutions and New Executive Appointments

Message from Jodi Uecker-Rust, President, Sage Business Solutions

Thank you for your commitment to Sage. Your dedication in delivering solutions to customers is the foundation for success at Sage. I'm honored to have the opportunity to lead Sage Business Solutions and to be working with such well-respected products, services, and partner communities.

As you've read, Sage Business Solutions is the combination of the Business Management and the Industry & Specialized Solutions divisions. As both Sue and Doug have mentioned, Sage Business Solutions is important to advancing our work in delivering the best solutions and the best customer experience in the market. The organizational changes we are announcing are intended to accomplish the following:

  • Increase focus on customers by market segment, while maintaining product line accountability
  • Leverage best practices, processes, and methodology division-wide to provide extraordinary partner, customer, and employee experiences
  • Improve efficiency and effectiveness in creating and delivering products and services to our partners and customers

While we will continue our sharp focus on the construction and real estate market and nonprofit sector through dedicated business units in the division, we will also be bringing together other businesses to concentrate our efforts more clearly in the horizontal markets. Following are the businesses and leadership of the new Sage Business Solutions.

Business Unit Leadership

Small Business Accounting Solutions

Peachtree by Sage and Simply Accounting by Sage

Connie Certusi will provide overall leadership for Small Business Accounting Solutions. This business includes Peachtree Solutions, driven by Connie, and Simply Accounting Solutions, led by Jamie Sutherland. Together, we have much to learn and share across these two groups as we continue to drive growth in the very competitive U.S. market and expand our market-leading position in Canada.

Mid-Market ERP

Sage MAS ERP and Sage Accpac ERP

Laurie Schultz will provide overall leadership to both the Sage MAS and Sage Accpac Solutions teams. Laurie and her team will focus on how to maximize the strength of our large installed base of ERP customers, concentrate on delivering competitive solutions, and grow and develop our partner channels.

Sage ERP X3

Alex Attal will continue to nurture and develop our Sage ERP X3 business in North America. Sage ERP X3, which serves the upper mid-market ERP segment, is a new solution in the Sage North America product portfolio and is showing growth in our challenging economy.

CRM

Sage SalesLogix, SageCRM, SageCRM.com, and ACT! by Sage

Joe Bergera, who has led Global CRM, will take on the additional responsibility for the SalesLogix, Sage CRM, SageCRM.com, and ACT! businesses in North America. Joe, with assistance from Susan Searle, will be focused on improving our business results with our large ACT! customer base. Additionally, we have great opportunity to improve our position with our Sage SalesLogix , SageCRM, and SageCRM.com solutions. Together, these lines represent the most comprehensive family of CRM solutions in the market.

Specialized Solutions

Employer Solutions, Fixed Assets, and Value Solutions

Himanshu Palsule will provide overall leadership to our business units focused on Employer Solutions, Fixed Assets, and Value Solutions. Joining Himanshu are Chris Donie, who will continue to lead our Sage FAS business unit, and Sam Hunter, who will continue to lead the Value team focused on insuring we continue to serve these long-term customers of Sage. Himanshu will provide day-to-day leadership for the Employer Solutions team until a business leader is named.

Industry Solutions

Construction and Real Estate

John Geffel will continue to lead our Construction and Real Estate business and stay focused on retaining our leadership position in this marketplace.

Nonprofit Solutions

Krista Endsley will continue to lead the Nonprofit Solutions business, building our growth and leadership in serving this important market that employs nearly 10 percent of the U.S. workforce.

Functional Leadership in the Division

Sales

Paul Johnson and his team will be responsible for overall sales processes and methodology across the division, and be directly accountable for mid-market ERP, CRM, and Specialized Solutions revenues. You can read about how we're managing the sales organization to better enhance our business development efforts by reading Paul Johnson's message.

Support/Training

Ron Taylor and his team will continue to provide overall support and training processes and methodology across the division, and be directly accountable for supporting the Small Business Accounting, mid-market ERP (Sage Accpac and Sage MAS), SageCRM, and Specialized Solutions businesses.

Marketing Leadership

Product Strategy and Marketing

In addition to his role leading the Specialized Solutions business, Himanshu Palsule will focus on developing key areas of our solutions strategy across the division including: product strategy, pricing, positioning, and strategic partnerships.

Customer Strategy and Marketing

Susan Searle will lead division-wide customer experience and installed based initiatives. In addition, Susan and her team will provide business reporting for marketing across the division, and creative services for our mid-market products.

Partner Strategy and Marketing

We are also creating a new position focused on partner strategy, programs, and marketing for the division to build on our industry-leading Partner Advantage program, which was again awarded five-star status by VARBusiness this year.

In addition, three of our senior leaders with whom you are familiar will be moving to new roles for Sage North America:

Corporate Marketing

Dennis Frahmann, who has managed BMD marketing, will now manage Corporate Marketing for the company, including brand strategy, advertising, tradeshows, research, and public relations.

Web Infrastructure

David van Toor, who previously held the GM role for our CRM Solutions business is taking on a new role supporting the company's work related to our Web infrastructure. David's work will be instrumental in our long-term goal of improving our Web customers' experience.

Chief Customer Officer

I'd like to especially acknowledge the efforts of Doug Meyer, who established the Industry & Specialized Solutions Division for us. As Sue noted in her message, Doug is taking on an important new role as Chief Customer Officer, reporting to Sue, where he'll help the company focus on new approaches to better serve our customers. Doug has been instrumental over the past two years in helping to build strong vertical market businesses for Sage and I look forward to continuing to work with Doug on key initiatives.

Central to the changes we announced today is the requirement to focus on what matters most. Our new organization will bring us closer to you and to the markets where we compete, with clear accountability. In doing that we'll further enhance our relationship with you as a trusted partner of Sage Business Solutions, and together we'll deliver a customer experience that truly sets us apart.

I look forward to meeting many of you next week at Insights in Nashville. Together, we can take our business to new levels of success!
